Business Development Manager – INDIA

In the context of rapid growth and geographic expansion, Asendia is creating a new Business Development Manager role reporting directly to the CEO of the South East Asia region over the Indian market. Capitalizing on Asendia’s core competencies in logistics and cross-border deliveries together with the final mile courier company, the Business Development Manager will identify and support the expansion of growth border e-commerce flows from marketplaces and online sellers in India to worldwide destinations. Working closely with the CEO on sales plan and development strategy, you will be responsible for building USPs/ value proposition, identifying key market verticals and new customers, developing those converted accounts, to drive increased revenue and sales in India. This is a unique role for a self-motivated and results-oriented individual looking for responsibilities and, possibility to develop as a country manager in the future.

Your Tasks

 

To define a go-to market strategy/sales plan together with the CEO and local partner in India.

To identify key prospects and targets for this new proposition.

To work closely with the support teams based in APAC (Operations and IT in particular) to make sure we deliver the right service/proposition to customers.

To develop a strong knowledge of the local ecommerce landscape in the Indian market.

To influence and improve the value proposition based on customers’ needs and feedback.

To identify and map business strengths and customers’ needs.

To establish the market positioning of Asendia as a cross-border e-Commerce company in India.

 

Your Profile

 

This position is to be based in Delhi, India. 5 years + experience in Sales / Business Development functions in the postal / transport / e-Commerce sectors.

Extensive experience in cross-border e-Commerce / logistics processes & operations.

Ability to develop a sales strategy, starting a business from scratch and entrepreneurial spirit.

Ability to sell with a consultative approach with good understanding of ecommerce landscape. A knowledge of e-Commerce platforms and marketplaces would be a key asset.

Strong partnership management, vendor management and negotiation skills.

Self-motivated, persistent and flexible person with the capacity to listen and understand customers’ requirements.

Strong communication skills ensure the ca-pability of working with people of various nationali-ties, on varying levels of hierarchy.

Degree holder (Bachelors/Masters) in Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics or in another highly analytical field.
