The challenge

In 2018, Smartbox was faced with the need to find a logistics and distribution partner that could efficiently and flexibly manage operations in Italy and Switzerland. The main needs included:

  1. Management of online shipments and large-scale retail channels : Smartbox needed a partner who could guarantee smooth management of shipments to end customers and physical points of sale.
  2. Flexibility in managing seasonal peaks: Smartbox's business is characterized by strong seasonal peaks, with significant increases in order volume during holiday periods such as Christmas and other holidays.
  3. Introducing innovative solutions: As the market and consumer needs evolved, Smartbox required innovative solutions, such as the digitization of gift boxes.

 

The Solution

Asendia Italy responded to Smartbox's challenge with a series of tailor-made services that revolutionized the customer's logistics and distribution structure.

  • Shipping management and dedicated warehouse: Asendia Italy has set up a dedicated warehouse for Smartbox, where it manages the arrival of goods, the management of e-commerce and B2B orders, together with distribution in Italy and Switzerland. 
  • Seasonal Peak Management: Asendia Italy is able to manage seasonal peaks with a significant increase in operational capacity, going from hundreds of orders to tens of thousands.
  • Customization of the service : Asendia Italy takes care of the entire life cycle of the products, from digital prints to the assembly of the physical displays containing the boxes.
  • Tracking and viewing orders: Smartbox can monitor the entire logistics and distribution process, through the My Asendia platform, which offers visibility and progress from order to delivery, including any inventory.
