The Challenge

In 2004, Herbalife Italy was faced with a crucial logistical challenge: to find a partner that could manage its entire order processing process and a large warehouse space to ensure the efficient distribution of its products.

The Solution

Asendia Italy responded promptly to this need, offering a tailor-made logistics solution. The order processing process has been carefully designed to ensure efficiency and precision at every stage.

  1. Receipt of Products: Herbalife products are delivered directly to Asendia's warehouse.

  2. Label preparation: Dedicated staff print the labels and documents necessary for order preparation.

  3. Product control: Each product comes with a QR code engraved on the cap, containing crucial information such as the batch, expiration date, and any revisions to the material. This allows accurate tracking of products and immediate intervention in case of need.

  4. Order Processing & Distribution: Asendia Italy manages the entire order preparation process, ensuring fast and reliable turnaround times. Once ready, the orders are entrusted to the chosen courier for delivery to the end customer.

Dedicated pick-up lines

Asendia Italy has introduced two semi-automated lines dedicated exclusively to the processing of Herbalife orders. A strategic step that has contributed significantly to operational success and customer satisfaction over the years. The implementation of dedicated lines was driven by the need to ensure efficient and precise order management, taking into account the specific needs of the nutritional sector and the wide assortment of products offered.

Below is a summary of the process divided into three macro phases:

  1. Product management and order preparation: Herbalife's line manages a vast assortment of over 1000 items, requiring highly organised and specialised logistics management.

  2. System Integration and Process Optimisation: The order preparation process is guided by integrated systems that allow for fast and accurate item management. Thanks to the use of technologies such as the pick-to-light system, operators are guided in the selection of items and in the preparation of boxes in an efficient and precise way.

  3. Weight control: The weight of the orders is checked, divided between the verification of the weight of the carton, ensuring correct packaging, and the total weight of the shipment as further verification of the adequacy of the contents of the packages.
