France  -  Cyclone Chido

The designated operator of France, La Poste, wishes to inform Union member countries and their designated operators that infrastructure in Mayotte (postcode 976xx) has been severely affected by the passage of Cyclone Chido. As the airport is not currently operational, the shipment and delivery of letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items are suspended until the necessary infrastructure can be repaired.   The shipment of letter and parcel post to the Comoros via Mayotte is also suspended.   La Poste is no longer accepting international mail in transit to these two destinations and requests that member countries refrain from sending these mail flows until further notice.   La Poste experts are available to provide any further information that may be required.   Any questions should be addressed to Mr Nicola De Bechon at nicola.de-bechon@laposte.fr.   La Poste thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding, and will provide an update via EmIS once the situation has returned to normal.
