The designated operator of Italy, Poste Italiane, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that a number of major Italian trade unions have confirmed a 24-hour general strike, commencing at 00.01 CET (UTC+1) on 29 November 2024. A range of sectors will be affected, including the aviation and airport sectors. There is a risk of flight cancellations/delays and disruption to airport services. Mitigation measures will be taken at Poste Italiane facilities but, depending on the number of workers striking, the impact may continue for a few days.
