The designated operator of Mauritius, Mauritius Post, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that Mauritius has been experiencing cyclonic conditions since 26 February 2025 and that a class 3 cyclone warning has been issued by Mauritius Meteorological Services. As a result, the international airport is temporarily closed and all flights have been cancelled. All economic/business activities have been suspended and all of the island’s post offices and postal facilities are closed (MUPLUA, MUPLUB and MUPLUC). The transportation and processing of both inbound and outbound mail (letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items) are affected, and delays are to be expected in the delivery of mail throughout the country. Accordingly, Mauritius Post has declared a case of force majeure. The authorities are monitoring the situation closely and Mauritius Post will provide an update via EmIS once the situation has returned to normal. Mauritius Post thanks all Union members and their designated operators for their understanding.
