Spain - Torrential rains

31 October, 2024

Update

The designated operator of Spain, Correos y Telégrafos, wishes to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that there was torrential rain in the eastern and southern parts of the country on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, causing damage to infrastructure and rendering various roads, railway lines and bridges impassable.   As a result, delays are to be expected in the delivery of letters, parcels and EMS items. In particular, deliveries have been suspended in most areas within the provinces of Albacete (postcode 02XXX) and Valencia (46XXX). Some localities of Cadiz (11XXX), Teruel (44XXX) and Almeria (04XXX) are also affected. Weather department officials have placed parts of the regions of Catalonia and western Andalusia under maximum alert.   Correos y Telégrafos thanks all Union member countries and the designated operators for their understanding, and will provide updates on the evolving situation via EmIS.
