Further to EmIS No. 181/2024, the designated operator of Spain, Correos y Telégrafos, wishes to provide other Union member countries and their designated operators with an update on the situation following the torrential rains on 29 October 2024. The areas still affected are in the province of Valencia (46XXX postcodes), which saw great damage and destruction to homes and businesses. In addition, the communications network (roads, bridges, streets and railways) was affected, and reconstruction is underway in various places, meaning that transport in the province is still disrupted. Work is being done to restore full operations but, in some areas, Correos y Telégrafos is still unable to provide a delivery service. To provide backup for inoperable post offices, temporary offices have been set up. However, the sorting facility in Valencia is back in operation, and service to the province of Castellón (12XXX) is back to normal. Correos y Telégrafos would like to thank all operators for their understanding and cooperation. It will continue to provide updates via EmIS.
