Asendia has acquired wnDirect. As part of their strategy to develop and grow international e-commerce delivery solutions, Asendia Group and wnDirect are pleased to announce that, following an acquisition process, the global e-commerce business wnDirect Ltd will be joining the Asendia Group.
Asendia Group’s overall global ambition is to become a major player in the international e-commerce and mail market. The capabilities of wnDirect, with their international commercial delivery network, people & knowhow, and their technologically driven delivery innovations will complement and add value to help the Group achieve this ambition, both within the UK and worldwide.
wnDirect are global e-commerce delivery specialists, with over 100 employees, and with customers in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA. Two-time National Business Award winners, wnDirect, have disrupted the international e-commerce distribution market since launching in 2011; the company has grown rapidly and has a leading cross-border commercial delivery network via best-in-class partners, and a range of innovations including PUDO (Pick up Drop Off) options and Returns solutions. DPDgroup, part of Groupe La Poste, has been a partner and shareholder of wnDirect almost since its formation. As part of this acquisition, wnDirect will move to be part of the Asendia Group division.
Asendia Group was formed in 2012 as a joint venture between Groupe La Poste and Swiss Post. Asendia Group is a global business with a presence in 15 countries with over 1,500 employees and is focused on providing global delivery solutions to its customers to support the growing cross-border e-commerce market.
wnDirect will start to be merged with Asendia UK, operating as Asendia UK, creating a new, larger, e-commerce focused, technology driven business with an expanded range of commercial and postal delivery services, mail solutions, and fulfilment capabilities. This will be under the leadership of Simon Batt, who is currently the CEO of wnDirect.
The Management Board of the new UK company will be made up of team members from both Asendia UK and wnDirect to ensure a sense of continuity into 2019 and beyond.
