E-Commerce Destinations

Set out to learn more about what is driving online shopping behaviours, attitudes to cross-border shopping, and where there might be untapped opportunities for brands to capitalize on, ESW (formerly eShopWorld) - owned by Asendia - conducted a survey of 22,000 consumers in 11 different countries.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold of the world, it has permanently changed the retail and e-commerce space. New consumer behaviours and attitudes have come to light and online purchases have become even more popular. This developmental change has forced retailers and brands to adapt to the shifting demands and find new ways to address their customer's needs. This evolution has accelerated cross-border e-commerce and motivated retailers to improve processes and eliminate friction.

To gain better insights into the behaviours of online shoppers ESW conducted the Global Voices 2021: Cross-Border Insights survey, in which they examined the behaviour of 22’000 consumers in 11 countries around the globe.

Global Voices 2021 has uncovered many interesting developments. From uncovering the behavioural patterns of different generations when shopping online to what drives cross-border online shopping.
